5/4F
KAUTO STAR (7 yo)
A phenomenal chaser – the first horse ever to win (2007), lose (2008) and then regain the Gold Cup (2009), the public took KAUTO STAR to their hearts. Alongside his Gold Cup double he also won the King George VI Chase at Kempton Park a record-breaking five times. The 2007 victory was the richest ever Cheltenham Gold Cup and he picked up a £1m bonus.

2008

Denman - Sam Thomas (2007)

9/4
DENMAN (8 yo)
The “tank”, as the public came to know him, won 14 of his 24 races under rules, putting up some of the greatest staying chase performances ever seen. Much of his illustrious career has been documented for the great rivalry with stablemate KAUTO STAR for the Gold Cup. This seven-length victory certainly put KAUTO to the test.
