On only his fourth run over fences, Coneygree won the 2015 renewal of the Betfred Cheltenham Gold Cup and he was the first horse since 1974 to win the race as a novice. Coneygree had won the Denman Chase at Newbury before the race and was always popular in the markets, returning at 7/1.
